We don't really know much about Sweetie Petie other than she had a very rough start.  She was rescued by a vigilant Good Samaritan who found her in a kill shelter and notified a Frenchie lover who has since become a volunteer for the FBVillage.  Poor Petie arrived into foster care in terrible shape, with a large tumor on her shoulder, teeth worn down to nubs, skinny, and covered with fleas.  She was so terrified by her time in the shelter and all that led up to it that she spent her time cowering in a corner, shaking uncontrollably.

Petie is still timid and handshy, and new situations scare her, but she is growing more confident by the day. She is a little velcro dog that follows her foster mom everywhere. She loves to lick people's legs so if an adopter doesn't like a licky dog, Petie is not the right dog for them.

Petie is a calm, submissive little dog who loves other dogs.  She likes to chase cats, so a home without cats would be a better choice for her.  She likes older children, but small children make her nervous.  She does not react with aggression, however.  Instead she will go hide under the bed to escape anything she really doesn't want to deal with.

Petie is not crate trained, but she is housebroken.  She is not a chewer, and she is not destructive.  She minds well and is great on a leash.   She is apparently in good health and is current on her veterinary care.

The ideal home for Sweetie Petie would be a fairly quiet home with one or two other dogs to be her playmates and sleepmates.  A single person or an older couple with young adult children would be a good choice.  Her new owners will need to be patient with her as she was not housebroken when she came into foster care and has just got the idea of the whole thing.  She would love a family that would take her with them whenever they go out, but she really doesn't have a problem staying home alone or with another dog.

This sweet girl deserves her chance at being somebody's spoiled little princess.  If you think you are up to the task, please contact us!
