Location: Georgia

Age: 4 years

Euro and his cohort, Holly, were both turned over to the FBVillage by a small commercial kennel that had decided to upgrade its breeding stock by humanely placing its non-AKC registered dogs.  Euro is a handsome guy, but we are happy to say that his stud dog days are officially over.  He can finally look forward to retirement benefits instead.  No more kennel run for him, as soon as we can get him healthy again, he's going to find himself a nice, cozy home where he can snuggle contentedly on someone’s couch, sleep in his own fluffy doggy bed, and enjoy the personal attentions of a loving family.

Unfortunately, Euro has heartworms, and he has to get rid of those before he can move on to his brand new life.  Heartworm treatment isn’t a walk in the park, by any means. It’s a long, dangerous and debilitating process to get rid of those worms. Euro has already received the first of several injections of Immiticide, a powerful heartworm killing drug.  Thirty days after that first treatment, Euro will have to suffer through two more injections , 24 hours apart, of the same drug, and then thirty days after that, Euro will go start to receive regular oral doses of Ivermectin. While the heartworms are dying and being flushed out of his system, there is a very real danger of fatal blood clots or stroke, so we are all keeping our fingers crossed for poor Euro.

During this entire period of treatment, Euro must be kept very quiet, sp he is basically on bed rest for dogs – no strenuous activity, little or no play or contact with other dogs.   It's not a fun start for a new life.

Euro will be spending quite a bit of time with his foster family in Georgia before he is finally ready to board the French Bulldog Bus, but that's okay, we'll be here for him. And when he’s ready, this handsome boy will head off on the Bus to a new home and a new life.

Every new K-Kid needs something, and Euro needs everything: not just expensive veterinary treatment, but also the basics that every companion dog expects: a bed of his own, toys, a collar and leash. Please help us by clicking on the "Sponsor A K-Kid" globe and making a donation in any amount, and be sure to say it's for Euro. Thank you!
